The launch date for the Guitar Hero PlayStation 4 is just around the corner. Recently, Gamereactor UK leaked an invitation for the launch party, but has since pulled the story. The invitation stated that the launch party would take place at Hamburg Rock City, and it encouraged attendees to “rock the shack with us.”
To begin playing, turn on your PlayStation 4 and press the PS button. The Xbox One version requires a guitar controller, which is not compatible with any other console. However, the guitar controller is compatible with the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems. Connect the guitar controller to the PS4’s USB port and press the PS button. The red light surrounding the PlayStation button will start blinking slowly, and you will be shown the guitar.
This game features three-column display on the screen, letting you practice your musical skills. You play by holding the relevant button on your guitar neck, and strum when the notes cross the bottom line. Missing a note will stop playing. During competitive multiplayer, only two players can play at a time, which means you’ll have to purchase an extra guitar. If you’re a newbie at Guitar Hero, you’ll want to practice some songs beforehand.
The PlayStation 4 version of the game is backward compatible with the original PlayStation, but it is not compatible with most older guitar controllers. As long as your PS4 has the new Backwards Compatibility feature, you’ll be able to continue using your old guitar controllers. Guitar Hero also works on PC and Mac, as well as on mobile devices, such as Android and iPhones. You can also enjoy the music with friends using your PlayStation 4 and your guitar controller.
If you’re new to rhythm action games, you’ll enjoy the Guitar Hero PS4 controller. Rhythm action fans will enjoy the unique control system that comes with the controller. The game is great for multiplayer sessions, and local multiplayer is a great option if you’re into that sort of thing. A few flaws, however, make it worthwhile. Just remember that the game’s single-player mode is more appealing to new players than the original.
Activision’s new guitar-based video game will likely bring back the same features that made the Guitar Hero brand so popular. The controller will mimic the actual guitar and drum set, and some embodiments will even mimic the real-life counterpart. It is unclear if the Guitar Hero PS4 controller will receive the same treatment as the Guitar Hero Live controller. The PlayStation 4 version of the game is set to launch next month.
